Piggy Adoption Extravaganza and Easter Bunny Awareness Events

All of us here at 4 Lil Pigs n Buns are still recovering from some BIG weekends at the Brandon Petco!  I am happy to report that the events were a big success!

On the weekend of March 31st-April 1st, we had our Guinea Pig Adoption Extravaganza.  We had a huge influx of piggies into the rescue during the preceding weeks, so it was time to find homes for many of them.  In addition to all of our adoptable piggies, we had many bunnies, hamsters, and gerbils at the event.
Piggies awaiting forever homes

Lots of little critters!

Almond is kind of a diva.

Nicholas says, "I'm cute."

We love Snowflake, and can't believe she hasn't found a home yet!

Lots of wonderful stuff to sell!  We promoted chocolate and stuffed bunnies for Easter!
Our awesome photo booth.  Nutmeg models here.

On Easter weekend, volunteers set up at the Brandon Petco once more.  We didn't adopt out any bunnies since it was Easter weekend, but we did have a pair of piggies go home!

At each event, we had face painting, a photo set-up for kids and pets, educational materials, fun items for sale, guinea pig C&C cages for sale, and lots of animals to come meet!

These little guys came to the event with momma bunny one of the days.  They will of course not be up for adoption until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered!
We had many wonderful people donate to our cause, and we were able to make a nice deposit to our spay/neuter fund!  Nutmeg, Stormy, and Nicholas were all spayed/neutered this week, and more buns will be done soon!

We also had several adoptions!  Here are all the lucky critters:
Duke, who has been with us for a LONG time, finally found a home!
River, the little stray bun brought to Peace River Wildlife Center found a home!
Susie and Sally
Beka and Olivia went home together!

Brynn and Pandora went home together!
Balto and Cobalt - 2 lucky gerbils!
Juliet patiently awaited her family - and found them!
Otis, whose first family nearly dumped him in the wild, found a home!
Sweet little Sugar
Athena and Livvie were the last 2 to go home!
So as you can see, we had a very successful weekend!  Thank you to ALL the volunteers who helped out, thank you to ALL the adoptive families, and thank you to ALL who donated money and supplies!

We were glad to have many adoptions, because we are getting into the Easter dump season.  We have already had more intakes, so as always, if you can adopt, foster, donate, volunteer, or even just share this blog, we would be extremely grateful!

We have another upcoming event in Port Charlotte this coming weekend.  We will have volunteers at the Port Charlotte Petco for the store's Grand Re-opening on Sunday April 15th!  There will be educational materials, free bunny & piggy nail clipping, and you can come meet Helen (hamster), Brienne and Capri (guinea pigs), and Nicholas (bunny).  Please come out to see us and the newly remodeled Petco store!  It's located on Cochran Blvd in the Publix plaza in Port Charlotte.

We appreciate your continued support!
